dogs cats and other creatures

craftchallenge is a new website that I have come across while surfing the net their challenge this week was to make a card with dogs cats or creatures in mind and I came up with this cute creation

if I was to critically analysis this card I would use a smaller image although I do think this card is still very very cute and I got to use some of my old stock  and I discovered embellishments that I had forgotten about. I am enjoying getting back into my crafting and having some creative time .

you light up my life

long time no see. I have the week off and have decided to make a card each day to use up my stock and to get myself back into the crafty world the challenge this week at http://southerngirlschallenge was sing sing a song there were so many ideas that I came up with and I was going to make a selection and then chosse the best but the first one that I made I thought was just too cute not to share so I guess I will just have to find another challenge to keep me happy. Anyway this is the card that I made

retro birthday

wow I have not blogged for a long time in fact I have not been creative for a long time. After I figured out how to get back on to blogger I was starting to wonder if it was worth it. Have had a few life changing experiences since I last blogged and that is probably why, now that I have resettled myself and moving forward I feel like I am ready to start creating and sharing again. anyway lets see if I can still do the linking thing daring cardmakers http://daringcardmakers.blogspot.co.nz/ are celebrating their seventh birthday and they have this picture as their inspiration

the next part of the challenge was to make a christmas card based on a similar design since I was on a roll I made the following card

I am not happy that it does not reflect the first card or the inspirational picture but it is still a card and I am happy to cross another christmas card off my list thanks for looking did you miss me? 

keep calm and carry on

don't know where my enthusiasm for my scrapping has gone but I am still getting down to my craft room and producing cards which use up some of my scraps so it isn't all doom and gloom. here is what I did this week

choc card

I don't know why but I had lost the urge to scrapbook lately. So I thought that I might give it the weekend off I have been scrapping at least one layout every week and so I was going to re evaluate after the weekend     anyway by four o'clock Sunday I unpacked my latest scrapping kit and I was starting to worry about what i am going to do with my excess papers and lovely goodies so I decided to see if I could calm my addiction by making a card. I did a quick search and came across challenge site that suited another addition, chocolate this is what I created

Just realised I didn't put a title on this layout (does it really matter) one thing that I have learnt from scrapping is that there is no right or wrong just as long as you are happy with it and I am so I am going to leave this layout title-less. Just one share this week as I have had the priverlidge to be a guest desinger for a website but will leave the details out until it goes live. this is the first time I have done any team work for a site and I am hoping everything goes well. but onto the things that I can share I am linking to this website this weekend http://letsgetsketchy. surprise surprise if I can only do one layout this is my go to site

penguins is the sand

love the colour combination of this challenge and knew the photos that I had to use as soon as I spotted the challenge. Back at work this week and it definitely doesn't feel like I have had three weeks off. I wonder what this year will bring. These penguins are a new feature at our local aquarium which we visited over the holidays they are super cute and I did take a few photos. This is my layout

rumour has it

http://scrapitwithasong is another new website that I have stumbled across and intend to revisit. the song that we were using as inspiration is Adele s' rumour has it . did you know I have heard that song numerous times and never really listened to the words and that is what this challenge made me do although The song kept repeating itself in my head well into the wee small hours. This is what I have done with this song

cant really tell what the black strips say from this image but I have written "Just cause I said it don't mean I meant it " that phase fits that particular child really well. Hope to become a follower of this website just need to find at least two more hours of sleep a day. Kirsty

shoot for the stars

Don't know whether I like this layout or not it was not what I had pictured in my mind. I am experimenting with inks and sprays and this one just didn't work the way I wanted it to but then we all have to start somewhere don't we this is for the challenge at http://scrapfit. and the challenge was to use stars. love the colour combination over at http://sketchwithcolor and had the perfect old photo sitting in my stash. Am pretty pleased with the final results and might use this colour combination on other layouts just beautiful. are you sick and me and all my posting yet I am enjoying the challenge and discovering new challenge websites like this one that I just don't get enough time during the week wouldn't it be nice to be on continual holiday?

the recipe challenge at http://challengemehappy was to use a quote and birds and stamping and an arrow as well as brads. I love this quote and knew exactly how I was going to use it in this wonderful layout

anyway one more week of holidays left am still not ready to go back to work although family is driving me crazy at least I have my creative space to chill.

imperfect photo

The challenge over at http://www.letsgetsketchy is to use an imperfect photo. My initial thought was I'm only allowed to choose one but there are so many. After a while I decided on a colour scheme and an ideal photo . am liking the black purple and the green and I also got to use some spray on the outer edges which I am just experimenting with at the moment. here is what I have done.
